Play iPod Classic Podcasts in chronological order

Normally when using the iPod Classic, when you play a podcast episode it plays through the episodes backwards, starting with the newest then playing last weeks for example. This can be annoying if you’re trying to catch up on episodes! There is no way to rearrange the ordering on the iPod, however, they can be played in chronological order by doing as follows:

  1. Go into Settings.
  2. Set Repeat to All.
  3. Go into Podcasts, but do not browse the episodes, just highlight the podcast.
  4. Press Play on the highlighted podcast. This will play the first episode on the iPod (ie, the oldest episode). It will then play the second, etc, in chronological order.
  5. To get to an episode, use the Skip buttons to cycle through them until you reach the one you want.
  6. If you want a relatively new episode, use the Skip Backwards button to jump from the first podcast episode to the last one. Keep pressing Skip Backwards until you reach the episode you want. This can only be done with Repeat All set.
  7. Enjoy! Your podcasts will now be played chronologically!

I hope this helps people out, I have had years of frustration with my iPod and have finally figured out a solution!
