Tip for SSH:Use screen to keep sessions running

If you plan on leaving a command running when you’re connected via SSH to a Linux box, use “screen”. This means you can disconnect from the server and the command won’t be killed:

screen [your command here]

Use Ctrl-A to access the screen controls, then press D to detach yourself. If your SSH session fails you can detatch it using screen -d [process ID], and then connect again using screen -r to reconnect to it.

Happy screening!
